I have arrived home.
I am Hilde Berit Moen — an abstract artist from Norway, rooted in the countryside and drawn endlessly toward colour, feeling, and the quiet language of paint.
For much of my life, I have worked in academia, living in the world of words and ideas, and loving it. But something in me needed more space — not just to think, but to create. That longing led me to my practice as a therapist, and alongside this shift, painting found me. Or perhaps I finally found it.
Painting is where I have arrived home.
Each piece I make is an expression of everything that is me — the wide skies and open fields of my birthplace, my deep love for ideas, the wild restlessness of the ocean, and the quiet beauty of garden flowers in the morning light. Abstract art gives me the freedom to speak without explaining, to let colour and form carry what words sometimes cannot.
My work is made to be felt — to bring something alive into a room, to hold a mood, to remind you that beauty is not decoration. It is presence.
Every painting is original, hand-made, and entirely one of a kind. When you bring one home, you carry a piece of this journey with you.
